BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:

To contribute to the Caterpillar and dealer business plan by developing strategies which effectively support dealer's facility planning and development. This assignment will provide consultancy support to dealers in achieving sales coverage, service support and distribution capabilities that meet the dealer's and Caterpillar's strategic objectives. Primary roles of the incumbent include: counseling dealers in developing ‘Right Sized' facilities to achieve a balance between effective coverage and dealer profitability, with strategies in place to enable expansion of the facility as the business opportunity grows. Facilities will also need to be developed with heavy machine industry in mind and service workshops will be designed to meet the dealer's service repair strategy.

ELIGIBILITY:

This position requires a college or university degree or equivalent experience. Incumbents will usually have had a minimum of 2 years experience in a previous town planning, architect, or facilities planning role and will show the ability to work independently and to communicate effectively with others in the work group, dealer personnel and customers. Incumbents will have demonstrated the ability to work on increasingly more complex assignments. Also must be willing to be posted in different locations on assignments.
