Environmental campaigns are planned set of activities that campaigners carry out in order to achieve a particular goal and/or change in advancing environmental protection (details of these campaigns can be found in www.greenpeace.org.cn).
Purpose of Position: The Events Officer (EO) will be responsible for planning, organizing and providing logistics support to campaign activities. As a general member of the campaign department and line managed directly by the Campaign Director, the EO will be working closely with various campaign teams in developing campaign activities and coordinating their implementation for Greenpeace China in order to achieve well-integrated campaign work.
Responsibilities:
- Events & Activities
- Coordinate and ensure the smooth implementation of any form of events & activities against strategic targets in order to achieve the campaign objectives as defined by the campaign;
- Participate in the development of the campaign strategies and in particular to ensure that events & activities are included as a key tactic in the campaign strategies;
- Ensure the appropriateness of targets, campaign relevance, quality of research, planning, execution and evaluation of all GP events & activities;
- Participate in annual national campaign planning process;
- Participate in regular evaluation, review and development of campaign strategies;
- Help develop creative activities together with campaigners, taking in account the local culture and tradition.

- Adhere to individual project deadlines and manage personal workload;
- Respond to challenges, explore new ideas and take initiative in all aspects of teamwork;
- Take full responsibilities for the completion of tasks as designated by the campaign director.
- Volunteers and Equipment
- Coordinate the volunteers' involvement in events & activities;
- Selecting, recommending, purchasing and maintaining the necessary/basic equipment and to ensure that the storage facility/warehouse is in good condition.
- Administration and Finance
- Be responsible for relevant filing systems; maintain efficient records of new and special equipment/techniques;
- Take responsibility for aspects of the campaign budgets as delegated for a certain event activity by the campaign director.
Requirements:
- With bachelor degree or above;
- At least 3-year working experience, especially administration, logistic, public relation or NGO experience;
- Good organization and communication skills; good analyze and research skills; responsible and active working spirit;
- Can work under pressure and challenge; good team-work spirit; understand and support the idea of Greenpeace;
- Both good English and Chinese skills;Good computer skills; familiar with office software.
