Director of R&D and QA – Food Industry - Highly Profitable US Company - Shanghai

This highly profitable US Holding company seeks a Director of R&D and QA to lead their R&D and QA teams. Involved in the end to end food business and supplying the top food brands in the industry, you will be responsible for leading and managing the 80+ member team in their central downtown office.

Your mentor and reporting line is to the VP of R&D, an internationally highly regarded professional in this field from USA. Your key responsibilities will include:-

1.         New product and packaging development – including process improvement strategies

2.         New technology development and innovation

3.         Provision of technical support to plants and OEMs

4.         Developing strategies for cost saving through global sourcing of ingredients and packaging

5.         Overseeing the quality assurance system and processes including auditing of suppliers, the factories including HACCP/CCP

To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualities and background:

1.         Food technology education background, Masters degree preferred

2.         At least 15 years of working experience in the food industry

3.         Experience from MNC companies and understanding of cross cultural management

4.         Good documentation skills

5.         Excellent communication in English and Chinese

6.         Demonstrated ability to manage a large R&D team. Strong people management skills
