Key Responsibilities

• Support major OEM specific engineering activities in China and ensuring that the engine and after-treatment systems deliver to quality, cost, and targets.
  
• Work with major customers to ensure aftertreatment duty cycles and environment / installation are understood and impacts on the aftertreatment system are identified
  
• Work with other team members to apply modeling, in-vehicle data logging, and test cell testing to quantify impacts on aftertreatment system reliability/durability
  
• Prepare technical data and complete documentation of work through the use of IQA's and AEB's.
  
• Make supplier, OEM, and end-user customer visits as appropriate to understand product field issues
  
• Work with US/UK technical team to develop technical solutions to support products in service
  
• Provide creative, innovative contributions to OEM's in developing the installation
  
• Champion the use of the IQA process, including electronic interface, calibration sign-off and aftertreatment system verifications as appropriate to ensure consistency and quality of installations.
  
• Work closely with the design group to ensure customers requirements are fully met through quality designs at the lowest possible cost.
  
• Participates in and supports new or improved techniques and procedures
  
• Major contributor to design reviews in terms of assessing the robustness and capability of new designs in meeting customer expectations.
  
• Champion the low cost initiative in developing the optimum common specification across China area.

Requirements:

• BS(ENG) minimum, MSME preferred, in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
  
• Five or more years of technical experience in vehicle/engine system design/application with demonstrated project management experience.
  
• Proficiency in Pro/E, ANASYS, CATIA, and other computer aided design and analysis tools in communicating with customers
  
• Good product knowledge with specialist proficiency in the IQA process and procedures.
  
• Fully conversant with the AEB's relevant to Account base.
  
• Knowledge of basic engine combustion and aftertreatment chemistry
  
• Knowledge of new product introduction process sufficient to support integration of aftertreatment into engine development processes
  
• Vehicle exhaust system and diesel engine after-treatment technology familiarization strongly preferred but not required
  
• Distinct interest in diesel engine after-treatment system application and product service is preferred
  
• Excellent presentation skills as well as written communication skills both in Chinese and English
  
• Confident in dealing with the management levels of the organization, both internally and externally.
  
• Composed under pressure when dealing with Customer complaints.
  
• A major participant in cross-functional technical groups/teams
  
• Self-motivated and work with large measure of autonomy, with supervision relating primarily to overall account responsibility and accountability
  
• Capable of leading a Six Sigma Green Belt project
