Responsibility:
WIMAX BTS Radio Development team is looking for calibers both internally and externally for the position of WIMAX BTS Radio Design Manager working on Nortel’s suite of Wireless products. The successful candidate will have the responsibilities of:
 People management & development: Recruiting, building, and managing a software design team of 12 to 15 people, and developing and implementing plans for the career / personal development of the team members.
 Project management: Ensure the quality and on time delivery of the committed project by participating in the project planning, resource management, progress tracking, and status reporting activities.
Requirements:
 B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or relevant fields
 5+ years of experience in the telecommunication industry, with 1+ year in a technical leader/management role
 Strong communication skills, both in English and Mandarin.
 Ability and willingness to handle multiple assignments, adapt to fast-changing circumstances, and do what it takes to get the job done
 Self-motivated, open-minded and champion teamwork spirit within and across the teams

 Understanding of the industry quality systems, include but not limited to TL9000, CMMI
 Solid knowledge of at least one of the following programming languages: C/C++ and one of the major telecommunication product/solution: Wimax/UMTS/GSM/CDMA/VoIP
 Familiarity with usage of Version management, Configuration management and Defect tracking system tools
 Working closely with Nortel Product Managers and Project Leaders to establish and execute development programs for the delivery of Nortel’s global products and services.
 The following skills and experience would be an asset:
- Understanding of Nortel’s Development Process PEMS.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a global environment across multiple time zones.
- Understanding of wireless radio
- Understanding of PowerPC™ RISC microprocessor programming
