Position Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for the internationalization of software products, acting as i18n engineering project lead, mentoring new engineers and helping clients with their internationalization efforts.
Essential Job Duties:
· Provide peer code reviews
· Provide troubleshooting and debugging guidance to other I18n engineers
· Act as a i18n project lead
· Act as technical liaison between US and Beijing I18n Operations
· Train and mentor new and Junior-level i18n engineers
· Modify existing applications to support internationalization standards
· Develop new software modules as necessary
· Provide Multi-byte & Bi-directional enabling
· Generate i18n related project documentation
· Manage i18n efforts to project budgets/schedules
· Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Duties:
· Lead within a project group; supervisory duties as assigned for Junior I18n engineers assigned to projects.
Experience:
· 3 years minimum of solid experience with I18n-specific development projects
Skill/Ability:
· Ability to analyze client software for i18n enablement purposes
· Strong English reading/writing and speaking skills
· Ability to work with internal and client teams
· Ability to interface with client, and engineers from the client site
· Consulting and presentation skills
· Ability to read source code written by other programmers
· Ability to adapt to and learn different development platforms, languages and environments
· Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex software builds
· Advanced Unicode expertise
· C/C++, .NET, and Visual Basic programming languages
· Java, JavaScript, JSP
· HTML, XML, ASP
· Perl
· SQL Server, Oracle, and other database experience
