Position Description：
This individual is responsible for Lionbridge’s technical infrastructure within China. Ensuring that all communication, both voice and data is reliable and scalable. This also includes the reliability of servers, desktops, and laptops. This position is both a hands on and strategic position working in one of our most important and strategic locations within Lionbridge. The individual will work closely with Corporate IT to provide guidance and expertise when it pertains to Chinese specific services (e.g. WAN providers).
Responsibilities:
1.Ensure Liox’s infrastructure (WAN, LAN, Voice, Data, Servers, Applications) is reliable and scalable within China
·Ability to identify potential problems prior to them occurring
·Ability to react quickly to issues and solve them in a reasonable timeframe
2.Direct responsibility for the Chinese local IT group
·Ensure that the local IT support group resolves requests in a timely and efficient manner
·Encourage the group to identify and develop methods for improving the overall service to the business
3.Ability to communicate clearly to employees by setting clear goals and timelines
4.Forward thinking with the ability to set strategy with the office manager and Corporate IT
5.Help identify ways to cut costs and/or create efficiencies via process improvements and/or technology
6.Work closely with Operations to understand the business and their needs
7.Work closely with both Corporate IT and other office IT managers to ensure stability and efficiency in order to run the business across locations
8.Disaster recovery plans, make sure they exist and work accordingly
9.Develop guidelines/policies for the office to ensure proper usage of software licenses, internet usage, LAN usage, etc…
10.Ability to communicate to customers when asked about the technology infrastructure
Required Skills:
·5+ years of comprehensive experience within IT
·Knowledgeable with Microsoft Operating Systems
·Excellent communication skills
·Excellent project management skills
·Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Technology or equivalent degree
