Job Summary

This is a position to work with local software/application developers in open source community, ISV's, enterprise, academia and government to deliver engineering assistance to enable the developers to
engage Solaris, Java and Sun's opensource technologies on their framework.

Job Description

A Technical Consultant position based in Beijing to work with the Developer Capture Team to focus on software developers who do software development. We do this by working with developers on:

• Evangelize Sun's opensource strategy and direction
  
• Porting (to Solaris, JES)
  
• Performance tuning
  
• Sizing and Benchmarking
  
• Technology adoption
  
• Technical training and workshop

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Advise software developers on architecture, methodologies, practises and tools. Review customer's software development plans and evangelise Sun's software roadmap.
• Lead in porting, sizing, performance tuning, benchmarking activities for the assigned partners.

Skills Required:

• Strong technical knowledge in Unix internals (Solaris preferred)
  
• Hands on coding experience with C/C++/Java
  
• Knowledge of Object Oriented programming and design patterns
  
• Hands-on experience of debugging, performance tuning, sizing
  
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
  
• Ability to influence technical managers and software developers

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Computer Science, plus a minimum of 5 years experience in software development or software support.
  
• Work as trusted adviser, providing Sun technical development support to developers and opensource comminity
  
• Good problem solving technical kill, testing, development and architectural problems in the R&D Design and coding stage
