A new research center for bioengineering and biomedical devices (生物工程暨生物医疗仪器中心/CBBD) has been established in HKUST's Fok Ying Tung Graduate School since April 2007.

CBBD's mission is to engage HKUST faculty members and scientists in applied research activities, particularly with an emphasis to the development of medical devices, advanced sensors and imaging analysis, with industrial partners and academic partners in the Greater Pearl River Delta (GPRD) region. With increasing industrial activities of medical and diagnostic devices in the South China region, CBBD's primary activities, in the first 3-5 years, will focus on the biosensors and medical devices. We aim to train our researchers at the frontier of scientific research and form a solid alliance with existing and future bio- and medical- industries in PRD China.

Program Manager:

Requirements:

1.Ph.D. degree holder in related engineering or science fields;

2.2-3 years' experiences in industrial research and project management would be preferred;

Responsibilities:

1.Assist center directors to execute various mission-specific initiatives,

2.Assist center directors to coordinate the development of industrial consortiums,;

3.Assist center directors to cultivate opportunities for new industrial partners/projects;

4.Assist center directors to maintain a satisfactory operation of the center.
