Our client is a leading consulting group, due to their expansion in China, is looking for a high calibre individual to fill the following position:
Procurement Transformation Principal Consultant – Based in China
 
Role Description:
 
This is a senior position within our fast growing practice with the potential of taking over as practice leader within 2-3 years.
 
To develop new client opportunities and lead the development of future propositions and implementations of Procurement Transformation programmes to cope with the growing demand of procurement consulting activities within South-East Asia.
 
To have the ability and experience to manage a large procurement programme with a medium to large team of consultants and senior client representatives. Through delivery will be expected to identify or develop sell on opportunities in line with the high level strategic review and targets.
 
To be part of the Consulting Procurement Transformation practice senior management team and participate in the development and implementation of the practice’s strategy, lead the performance management process, develop people their skills and capabilities, lead major communication events with clients and internally and represent the Company at senior level meetings.

  • MBA graduate
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Business insight and acumen
  • International Mobility
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written (Good English is a prerequisite)
  • Professional attitude/demeanour, honesty
  • Self Motivated and ambitious with ability to motivate others
  • In order to be considered one of the following roles must have been performed:
    • Procurement Senior Manager
    • Procurement Director
    • Global sourcing Leader at large Intl blue chip company
    • Consultant (Senior level)
    • Supply Chain Senior Manager and with Asia Pac responsibilities
 
Specific Procurement Criteria:
 
  • Proven track record of success in sourcing and procurement with tangible achievements
  • At least 15 years of senior level procurement positions
  • Direct experience of working on global sourcing projects or procurement strategy development
  • Very good understanding of category management, strategic sourcing and or Strategic Supplier Management
  • Clear evidence of capability in designing sourcing strategies
  • Excellent client relationship skills
  • Strong all round consulting experience and performance that includes; supporting the sales process, leading and being part of delivery teams
  • Good people management skills
 
Consulting Skills (no essential but desirable)
      
  • At least 5 -6 years of consulting experience
  • Very experienced Project Management skills
  • Expert in defining the type of process change and supports all the relevant aspects relating this change.
  • Provides insight and support to the Subject Matter Experts/ champions to create a ‘positive’, executable process model, roles, applications, performance measurements, improvement schedule, etc.
  • Good stakeholder management and communication
  • Project Management
  • Comfortable with problem Solving techniques
