ESSENTIAL FUNCTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with research scientists from multidisciplinary teams on programs ranging from long-term and exploratory research to applied research & development to serve many GE businesses
  
• Conduct coal conversion (gasification and poly-generation) research and process improvement with focus on inventing new technologies
  
• Communicate effectively with GE Global Research Center leadership, GE Energy business, external customers, and team members.
  
• Document results through patent applications, technical reports, presentations, and publications

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

• PhD/MS in Chemical Engineering /Thermal-engineering/Mechanical Engineering;
  
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills to contribute as part of a cross-functional development team;
  
• Excellent problem solving skills - ability to consider overall problem, identify opportunities and implement major changes ;
  
• Self-starter, independent thinker, proactive problem solver ;
  
• High energy with passion for excellence;
  
• Demonstrated ability to set and achieve aggressive goals and targets;
