FUNCTIONAL WORK AREA : Engineering/Technology

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design responsibility for assigned gas & steam turbine and generator accessory systems - air inlet & exhaust, enclosures & ventilation, lube & hydraulic oil systems, gas & liquid fuel systems, and piping.
  
• Evaluate and develop supplier design & project execution capabilities, review and approve supplier's design and analyses, execute equipment qualifications as part of a global GE team.
  
• Effectively interact with customers, architect engineers, suppliers and with GE internal functions quality, sourcing, project management.
  
• Identify required supplier shop and customer job site equipment inspections to resolve technical and manufacturing issues and to enhance designs.
  
• Provide on site installation and startup support for Asian customers. Troubleshoot and resolve root cause and corrective action for field hardware issues.
  
• Mentor less experienced team members.
  
• Actively participate in cost reduction and quality initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

• BS degree in Engineering.
  
• Minimum 7 years design experience in power generation, oil & gas, aerospace, marine diesel or petrochemical industry.
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese.
  
• Demonstrated ability to manage simultaneous projects with minimal direction.
  
• Well-established computer, communication and organizational skills.
  
• Ability to build relationships and integrate within a diverse, high-energy global technology team.
  
• Willingness to travel monthly.

DESIRED:

• Significant project engineering management experience.
  
• Experience manufacturing engineering or product quality.
  
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certified - GE candidates only.
