ESSENTIAL FUNCTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Opportunity screening/tracking/reporting - Must be able to evaluate and respond to technical specifications. Does not need to own customer relationship, but must understand opportunity details such as estimated revenue, estimated timing of order, what is needed from GEFanuc pre and post win. Must be comfortable with reporting on opportunities to management team.
  
• Technical product promotions - Proactively push promotions such as workshops and seminars to customers leveraging Channel partners and GEFanuc sales team. Conduct periodic product updates to sales team including distributors, system integrators, and design institutes.
  
• Develop technical collateral - Development of Application Notes, Demos, Success Stories, and Application Briefs. Technical document review and translation is periodically required.
  
• Local pre and post sale consulting - Provide technical consulting on our products to field sales to respond and influence specifications. Proof-of-concepts, creating sample code, participating in project startups, and periodic help with field problems will be required. Good presentation skills are a must. Should be familiar with Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint.
  
• Competitive Analysis - Periodic analysis of competitive architectures to maximize win potential.
  
• Company training - Attend sales and financial training sessions (CCV, SSN, etc.) when offered as well as the completion of Webinars where applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

• A minimum of a four-year technical degree with 2 years related experience is required.
  
• Job experience of at least 2 years in Application, Project, or Consultant Engineering with DCS products preferably in Chemical or Petrochemical applications.
  
• Working knowledge of frequency hopping spread spectrum radios.
  
• Working Knowledge of MS Office based products.
  
• Working knowledge of pipeline and opportunity management methods.
  
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  
• Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Application Engineer will be responsible for proactively engaging field sales to maximize success. They will be responsible for helping energize field sales by championing technical value proposition vs. competition. This position includes a sales incentive salary component.
The Application Engineer will have primary focus on GE Fanuc's Proficy Process Systems and wireless communication products. Other products to become familiar with include PLC/PACs, Input/Output devices. Operator Interfaces, Human Machine Interface software, Historical Database Collection software, revision management software such as Microsoft Visual Source Safe, and Batch software. Activities will include technical opportunity screening/tracking/reporting, technical product promotions such as workshops and quarterly distributor/SI/DI product updates, develop technical collateral, local pre/post sale consulting to Distributors/SI/DI/End Users, competitive analysis, and company training.
