Key responsibilities of the position include:
• Tactical deployment of PDP and VPD processes
• Ownership of make vs buy process and strong interaction with supply base NPI organization
• Drive EMR penetration
• Technical support to supply base to develop ‘should cost’ model
• Product envelope definition around existing processes
• Input into global capacity management tool to fully understand current and future equipment utilization rates
• Responsible for target cost estimation for piece price and capital requirements on new product launches
• Supervise equipment and tooling procurement, installation and initial run-off to support new product launches
• Core member of product launch teams supporting product engineering and project managers
• Reports performance of key metrics; maintains spending at or below budgeted levels

• PDP / VPD experience desirable but not essential
• Technical bias and sound knowledge of a wide variety of manufacturing processes
• Strong financial acumen


Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years progressive experience in a manufacturing or chemical engineering, preferably in an Automotive environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, Master’s degree preferred;
• 6 Sigma, LEAN or HOS experienced practitioner with certification preferred
