A. Role Summary
Responsible the cargo’s quality, product reliability, quality consistency of on-going shipments and stable production conditions.
Ensure the integrity of quality assurance program and the quality control outcome;
Identify potential quality/production risk, control the problem related to production quality and provide solution for problem solving;
Provide solution for Quality improvement for the category;
Support timely production and delivery control;

 

B. Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
1)Quality Planning:
Factory capability evaluation and initiate improvement plan for factory;
Vendor’s quality criteria review and negotiation with vendor for specific SKUs;
Vendor’s SKU quality project plan review and refine for specific SKU; 
2)Quality Management:
Pre-production testing result review and conclusion confirm;
Identify potential quality/production risk and preventive action planning;
Mass production readiness review (operation and manufacturing process part);
Leverage 3rd party inspector/auditor’s capability to implement quality/production monitoring, include quality inspection, testing or audit; and also the result evaluation, and work together with sourcing, PTL and supply chain to make the final decision, like accept, request for improvement, or correction, preventive action…etc.
3)Service Provider Management:
Plan and implement service quality evaluation on 3rd party inspector/auditor’s job, and initiate their service quality improvement request, monitoring the improvement result;
Provide solution for problem solving; 
4)Performance Management:
Balance between quality vs delivery if necessary, and provide recommendation to management for final decision.
Regular (monthly or bi-weekly) quality performance report and vendor performance reporting;
Vendor scorecard review for quality performance part;
Provide solution for vendor’s quality performance improvement; 
5)Process Communication:
Building partnership with brother teams, like sourcing, PTL, supply chain to ensure the successful sourcing activity;
Ensure execution of SOP;
Conduct product return analysis and implement the quality improvement program.
Assist supplier quality specialist or line manager in system development and update of SOP, procedures and reports as deem necessary.
6)Process Management:
Responsible for SKU quality project’s progress and outcome;
Responsible for quality inspection pass rate improvement project, on-time production project;
Responsible for vendor quality performance improvement project;
Conducts other special projects and tasks as directed by line manager or higher level management. 

 

C. Requirements:
University graduate or above, major in electrical/electronics or mechanical engineering.
Over 4 years experience in consumer product quality engineering, supplier quality control or product engineering.
Good knowledge of consumer product quality requirements, criteria, especially for north American market;
Good knowledge of consumer product manufacturing process, critical control point, control tools;
Good experiences of quality problem solving, and quality negotiation skills with vendor and factory;
Good knowledge of vendor quality improvement practice;
Good project management knowledge and experiences.
Good planning skills and data analysis sense.
Good at written and reading English, smooth communication in oral English.
Good communication and Interpersonal skills
Positive working attitude and able to work under pressure
