Position: Regional Office Manager-Sourcing
Company Introduction:
Our client is a UK company, They manufacture Retail Interiors in Wood, Metal & plastic for a range of high street brand clients throughout Europe . It is rapidly increasing the volume and value of goods being imported from China and as a result are going to be setting up a registered office to be able to manage this.
Responsibilities:
1. To establish, develop and manage the regional office in China, working with the Head of Group Procurement.
2. To source, investigate and approach suitable factories for manufacture of our goods.
3. To supply completed Supplier Profile Forms.
4. To plan and execute a cost benchmarking exercise in order to establish suitability and competitiveness.
5. The Office Manager will be required to support necessary supplier visits and the QA approval process prior to placement of any orders including auditing.
6. When trading commences or with existing factories, the Office Manager will also be required to -support ongoing sourcing,-manage costings and negotiation, -expedite work in progress within factories -expedite up to port of despatch, in consultation with appointed freight forwarders.
7. Initially the Office Manager will also be required to carry out “in process” and “final” Quality Control Inspection at factories pending the development of the office support team.
8. This will include inspecting Prototypes and First Article samples from production tooling and feeding back to relevant UK personnel.
9. It will be necessary to be fully conversant with reading drawings and understanding technical specifications to carry out this role.
10. Maintaining financial control of all projects within the field of responsibility, giving input into reporting and measurement systems.
11. Actively leveraging reduced costs and optimum lead-times by supporting sourcing decisions and taking part in negotiations with selected suppliers.
12. Assisting with visits to China by its staff and customers.
13. Ultimately the post holder will manage a small team of people responsible for coordinating Enquiry Management, Production Scheduling, Quality Assurance and Supplier Development with potential for further growth and development of the team as business develops.
14. The role will require some travel throughout China and occasional overseas visits to the UK.
Requirements:
1. Experience of Office and Staff Management
2. Commercial experience in dealing with suppliers and customers at all levels.
3. Educated to English at CET level and experience of regular commercial communication verbally and in written English.
4. Familiar with and able to read technical drawings.
