Purposes of the position (Role):
The Site Manager is acting on the behalf of the Project Manager and is our customer's primary point of contact,responsible for the coordination of daily site related activities in the installation phase of the project.
The Site Manager on behalf of the Project Manager is responsible for the execution of activities inside the frame of contract (H&S, time, quality, sub-contractors), optimizing of the project, Installation schedule and also the daily leader of Site Supervisors and technicians.
Essential Responsibilities:
Project Preparation Phase :
- Take part in start-up meetings.
- Help in the evaluation of quotations from sub-contractors (crane & local work force).
- Prepare installation and commissioning schedules.
- Secure that tools, lifting equipment & spare parts for the project are ordered and delivered timely on site.
Project implementation phase :
- Daily planning of site activities in cooperation with internal and external resources (customers & sub-contractors)
- Registration of site activities and reporting to the Project Manager in accordance with the contract and agreed with the Project Manager.
- Responsibility for the implementation of the Vestas H&S rules, planning and execution of H&S meetings including updating H&S documents.
- Participation in daily and weekly site planning meetings with customers and sub-contractors.
- Responsible for the registration of Non Conformity Reports (NCR) cases and the needed action to rectify problems.
- Responsible for the setup of site office and other facilities.
- Responsible for the registration and approval of arriving goods.
- Responsible for inventory of tools and parts under Vestas scope of work.
- Responsible for the completion of all QA documentation needed for gratifying the general Vestas quality system on site specific conditions.
- Support the Project Manager in the fabrication of site specific quality documentation and as-built documents.
- Follow-up on delivery schedules (Logistics).
- Support to the Project Manager with shipping Coordination and follow-up.
- The organisation and execution of snagging or punch lists and the subsequent rectification thereof.
- Coordinate the TOC phase activities with the Project Manager.
Project Completion Phase :
- Participate in hand-over meetings with Vestas Service Department.
- Participate in hand-over meetings with our customer.
- Participate in the NCR cost calculation.
- Responsible for final inventory of equipment and parts after completion of site work.
Qualification required: (education, training, license, skills, etc.)
- Heavy industry or construction background .
- Education with electrical, hydraulic or mechanical content.
- Extensive knowledge of wind turbines.
- Several years of experience in wind turbine Installation andCommissioning.
- Office experience and are used to lead a team .
- Experienced user of MS office package.
- Able to converse in English both oral and written at a high level.
- Good understanding for and are interested in working together with
- people from other cultures.
- Service minded, flexible and with a high stress threshold.
