The Oracle Asia Research & Development Center's (OARDC) RealWorld Benchmark Center (RWBC) is a newly established initiative in Asia Pacific located in Shenzhen, China. RWBC is chartered with helping the field Sales Consultants with a proven set of processes, tools, best practices and services to benchmark projects. The center is entirely focused upon database performance, as a customer would perceive it. The core activities within this center include the following:

· Benchmarking on competitive environments
· Proof of concept projects with high profile oracle clients
· Performance studies on new features and code lines
· Escalated issues from production systems

This work by its nature requires a great deal of diplomacy, technical experience and ability to think laterally out of the box.

Basic Qualifications:

· BE / BS / MS or equivalent Information technology degree
· 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in a Consultancy
· Self motivated, quick learner, ability to work independently as well as in a team
· Strong desire to learn and apply new technologies
· Good spoken and written communication skills
· Energetic, Initiative, independent with good analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

· Benchmark on competitive environments
· Be the subject matter expert on Oracle database performance tuning
· Assist strategic customers in improving the application performance.
· Provide technical input to customers on best practices and help them in proof of concept projects.
· Performance studies on new features and code lines
· Attend to escalated issues from production systems
· Prepare whitepapers / articles on various benchmarking and performance tuning topics.

Required Skills:

· Knowledge of Oracle Internals and Architecture
· Relational Database fundamentals
· Programming and debugging in C, Shell-script
· Proficient in performance tuning for large Oracle DB installations
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
· Strong application debugging and tuning skills on Unix/Linux platform
