Job Description

 

Hire and manage a distributed team of software developers in Shenzhen, China, and Shanghai, China. Report to HQ management team. Coordinate efforts of local teams with a global organization of developers in the USA and India.

 

Work location: Shenzhen, China preferred. Shanghai, China is a second choice but possible. Candidate will be expected to travel between China locations periodically.

 

The System Management Products (SMP) group builds software product suite, Enterprise Manager, that improves manageability of the entire Oracle ecosystem. Customers benefit from higher levels of automation when deploying and operating Oracle software, and from lower total cost of ownership (TCO). This is a strategic area of expansion for Oracle as we grow our data center presence and build more comprehensive offerings against the likes of Oracle's competition.

 

Enterprise Manager (EM) is web-based and is built using standard middle-tier technologies including Java, J2EE, JDBC, XML and etc. The team is responsible Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Configuration Standards (Policies) to support ITIL processes that are bundled as Configuration Management Pack of Oracle Grid Control.

Required Skill Areas

 

·        Experience managing commercial software development teams (hiring, firing, project management, individual performance management)

·        Experience with distributed organizations

·        Experience operating as a manager within a multi-national corporation

·        Strong spoken and written English skills

·        Fluency in Mandarin Chinese

 

Highly Desirable Skill Areas

·        Experience with Oracle products

·        Experience with IT Management tools (eg, Oracle Enterprise Manager, HP Open View, Tripwire, etc.)

·        Hands-on technical experience with one or more of:  Relational Database Systems, especially Oracle; Java; web-based applications; SNMP.

 

Education and experience

 

·        BS/CS or equivalent required, MS/CS or equivalent desired

·        Minimum 3 years prior management experience
