a. PURCHASING DIRECTOR (Ref.: PD)

We are looking for an experienced steel sector Purchasing Director tbe employed in our Changshu office. The candidate will operate within the Chinese territory in total coordination with Our Client Group Global Sourcing Vice President.

He will hierarchically report tDCS Managing Director and functionally tthe HQs Global Sourcing Vice President.

The positions would ideally suit applicants with experience in steel plants and supply companies.

It is offered the opportunity for overseas travel ( Italy and Far East ) and competitive salaries commensurate with experience.

Job Description

• Identifying business opportunities within the Market main suppliers
• Setting-up Our Client Group local (China) purchasing guidelines/policies
• Preparing Purchasing General Agreements
• Negotiating the terms of main procurement agreements
• Coordinating procurement activities regarding:
  • World Wide Our Client Group Workshops
  • Chinese Casting/Forging/Raw Materials/Commercial and Consumables Items; Carpentery/Machining items;
  • Chinese Machines by Our Client drawings.
• Keeping abreast of what competitors are doing

Entry requirements

• University degree in engineering (mechanical / metallurgical / electrical).
• 7-15 years of experience within purchasing / global sourcing activities within Chinese middle/big Companies
• Age: 30-45yrs
• People skills, good standing, excellent communication skills, confident and determinate approach
• Proficiency in Mandarin and the English language required.
• Contacts and business relationships with the Chinese and Far East countries are considered a welcome plus
• Available tfrequent trip within China , and tItaly/Far East countries.
