KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understand and model surface equipment-related phenomena, among which:
  • Cost, reliability and performance of surface equipment (pipeline, compressors, heaters/coolers, separators).
  • Surface equipment installation and maintenance, including safety and environment aspects.
  • Surface equipment monitoring, particularly pipelines (pigging).
  • Interaction of CO2 and its contaminants (H2S, methane, SOx, NOx…) with metals and elastomers.
  • Techniques to prevent tubular corrosion and elastomer degradation.
  • Viscous pressure drop and erosion in surface piping.
  • Thermodynamic behavior of pumped CO2, including phase transitions.
  • Pressure/volume/temperature calculations at all points of the surface equipment to the wellhead.
  • CO2 conditions at the generator (p, V, T).
• Evaluates existing understanding, tools, models and simulators for the behavior of surface equipment
• Works closely with software developers to integrate models in existing software platforms
• Develops and manages a strategy for reliability, maintainability, availability and safety of surface equipment
• Assists CO2 field operations as required, in particular in preparing and evaluating bids and managing contractors

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering. 5+ years experience in the design of gas pumping and treating systems. Experience with pumping CO2 a big plus.
• Strong team player
• Business oriented, basing decisions on cost/benefit analysis
• Result-driven and self-directed
• Thorough in organization and documentation, yet ready to simplify and cut through in order to achieve
• Able to work under pressure and flexible
• Excellent spoken and written English
