The Embedded Systems Software Engineer will work on embedded systems application software for SONET/SDH/DWDM and cross-connect products. 

Key Responsibilities

· Analyze requirements, generate design documents and, produce code to be integrated with the Meriton products. 
· SONET/SDH/DWDM system software development.
· Hands-on embedded system software design, development and debugging skills using C and C++.
· Practice quality software development approach including: design, code, unit test, code reviews, integration and system test.
· Work closely with system development teams in the U.S. and in Canada.

Skills/Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
· Possess strong technical, analytical, programming and testing skills and be capable of handling multiple tasks with minimum supervision.
· Experienced with software defect tracking systems (e.g. Bugzilla).
· Experience writing software for a real-time operating system (e.g. VxWorks, pSOS, QNX).
· Strong communication skills (English – verbal and written).
· Experience with SNMP agent or TL-1 agent and MIB definition.
· Experienced with source code change tracking systems (e.g. CVS).
· Experience with IP/GMPLS desirable.
· Demonstrated strong teamwork skills are a definite requirement.
