Summary
The application developer will be part of a team creating exciting online digital media tools and services for the Roxio division of Sonic Solutions. Roxio is looking for both client-side and server-side engineers.
Key Responsibilities
-Help architect, design, implement, and unit test Sonic’s online components,
using technologies such as .Net 2.0, nHibernate and Oracle databases.
-Work closely with IT, Design, and other Developers to help design & develop web applications and services and corresponding client components.
-Write and review technical specifications.
-Proposes workable solutions to problems by analyzing business and technical trade-offs among alternatives.
-Sets and meets deadlines with quality deliverables, effectively adapting and modifying plans based on changing data or conditions.
-Ensures that the appropriate documents exist and are broadly communicated to drive shared vision among the North American and International teams
-Creates clearly understandable & actionable success criteria, objectives, and requirements and communicates them to the team.
-Manage multiple, complex timetables successfully in a collaborative fast paced environment.
Qualifications:
-BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
-3 - 5 years experience with Microsoft Development Environments which include Visual C++ and .Net.
-3 - 5 years experience of C++, ATL/COM. Experience with scripting languages is highly desired.
-In-depth knowledge of industry standards and best practices for HTML, XML, and CSS.
-Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet aggressive deadlines
-Good written and verbal communication skills
-Creative thinker, open to idea exploration with strong problem solving/analytical abilities.
-Strong project management and interpersonal communications skills.
-Positive attitude and ability to work well with others in a team-oriented setting
-Experience in translating requirements into design decisions
-Must be results-oriented, customer driven, organized with rigorous attention to detail.
