1、 targets and competences of the function
- Responsible resolving all technical problems with BMW/ JV cars in the market.
- Develops measures to reduce the goodwill cost of BMW AG/ BBA with respect to customer satisfaction.
- Implements necessary technical innovations according to market requirements.
- Assures together with local authorities that local produced BMW/JV products and innovations such as radio and communications systems, navigation systems, aerodynamic kits, wheels and tyres can be introduced in the market.
- Conduct anonymous workshop tests in the market.
2、 specific tasks
- Leads and oversees advice given for technical problems with BMW Automobiles through customers and Dealer organization
- On the vehicle
- When retrofitting components
- Support in the area of repairing manuals
- Support in the area of coding / programming
- Is responsible for the function and availability of the technical hotline within business hours
- Constantly informs the respective BMW/JV departments about production start and series quality (i.e. by Puma), and suggested improvements. Reports technical problems with local produced cars in the market to the QBM of the JV production. Support the respective BMW departments and the QBM of the JV production when working on solutions to problems.
- Oversees the incoming quality information and sends it prepared to the responsible BMW department and the QBM of the JV production. Initiates the collection of defective parts from the region.
- Constantly informs the employees in the region as well as the Service Manager of the dealers about current quality issues, customer service solutions as well as product and component improvements.
- Performs in co-ordination with the warranty manager warranty country comparisons with the help of warranty statistics, special evaluations and defect code analysis and initiates measures to reduce warranty cases.
- In agreement with the Area After Sales Managers and the Warrany Manager, gives relevant warranty information to warranty employees of the Dealers in the region.
- Ensures, through constant contact with the responsible person at the JV production, that each technical product improvement inclusive of technical campaigns is implemented as soon as possible.
- Supports the person in the JV production for quality problems with local manufactured components.
- When required, finds local service solutions for market specific problems.
- Initiate and coordinates field studies on components, by the suppliers.
- Is the contact person for all types of technical issues through BMW departments or suppliers.
- Summarizes the monthly technical reports from the market and prepares a uniform report.
- Monitors constantly technical issues and top warranty problems for the entire region and discuss with the responsible employees at the QBM of the production.
- Evaluates customer vehicles in individual cases together with the Area After Sales Manager or Technical Specialist.
- Supports PR for technical questions from the customer.
- Supports the responsible departments in conducting field test and other test in the region.
- Follows up, analyse and develops solutions to improve the completion of technical campaigns in the region.
3、 Requirements

- Good knowledge of PC Software in MS- and BMW applications.
- User of English and Chinese
- Experience in a company advisory role.
- Detailed knowledge of all processes of engineering, as well as their link to crossover functions.
