XRA Business Overview

XRA is a joint venture company between XAE and Rolls-Royce.  The company manufactures a range of turbine components for gas turbine engines.  The business is currently undergoing considerable growth through increased demand for current products and development of new products.

Team Overview

The technical team at XRA are a team of highly motivated engineers working on the four key engineering tasks of new part introduction, capability acquisition, continuous improvement and quality management.  The teams are developing the manufacturing processes and systems to improve the manufacturing methods used on current components and are developing new methods for the new components.  This work is undertaken directly by the team in-house or through the use of external suppliers.  The team are using the latest improvement tools including Green Belt skills to drive improvement.

Job Specification

Lead the team
- to provide daily support for production processes through root cause investigation     and problem solving
- to provide support to the validation and improvement of current and new products.
- to manage the key foundry processes looking to standardize and adopt best practice.
- through training and development needs to improve support to the business

Personal Requirements

The candidate will need to be an energetic, enthusiastic team oriented individual.  Degree qualified or with relevant experience. Familiar with foundry processes and the capability to learn quickly. Must be able to demonstrate good IT skills.

Capability to communicate effectively at all levels in the company and preferably with good English.
