Windows Live China (WLC) is building a world-class engineering teams in Beijing focusing on AdCenter’s Global Business Intelligence (GBI), The team will partner closely with teams in Redmond while having the full responsibility and ownership for building an integrated global intelligence platform for online content service, and applications to optimize the monetization and customer engagement efforts across Windows Live properties and beyond. 

Responsibilities:

• Leverage knowledge of current data warehouse and software development methodologies to contribute to the overall planning of projects by recommending approaches, identifying resources, and developing timelines
• Work closely with customers, PM and fellow developers to identify business requirements and translate them into logical and physical database designs
• Utilize strong data modeling skills to design both normalized and de-normalized dimensional data structures
• Define and lead the development of the overall ETL strategy for the data warehouse
• Lead the efforts to analyze and tune performance bottlenecks (both SQL and ETL tuning strategies)

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience with construction and delivery of Multi-Dimensional Databases, OLAP Cubes, Star Schemas, and Dimensional Data Models, ETL tools, etc
• 6+ years of experience in data modeling, especially in relational and dimensional data modeling and physical database design of decision support systems
• 6+ years of experience in coding/optimizing/analyzing SQL on a RDBMS (preferably Microsoft SQL Server) platform in a high-availability production Data Warehouse environment
• 6+ years of database administration and performance tuning experience in a large scale, multi-subject area data warehouse
• 6+ years of experience designing, implementing and managing metadata solutions. Meta data definition and repository experience a plus
• 6+ years of experience designing and implementing data quality process and measurements techniques within large scale data warehouse environments
• Strong conceptual design and analytics skills with an ability to balance theory and practical reality
• Strong database technology skills in MS SQL Server, Oracle or UDB/DB2, preferably MS SQL Server, the skills include: database index design, portioning schema design, query plan analysis and optimization, I/O optimization 
• Solid oral and written communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical topics to management and non-technical audiences
• Self-motivated, well organized and have strong innovation and facilitation skills, especially in driving consensus among senior technical resources
• Demonstrated ability to work within an established timeframe to complete a task, and at times, should be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Must be proficient in software engineering life cycle and shipped quality products
• Must be fluent in English
• A BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is required
