Title: MSIT RXD PreLive Build Lead (MSIT)

Position Overview:
The PreLive organization is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to lead its emerging engineering team in the Microsoft IT China (MSIT) in Beijing. This will be a hands-on position with team lead responsibilities. Strong technical capabilities are required. This person will manage 5-8 build engineers. This team will be responsible for build, test, deploy automation packages for over 70+ applications on over 700+ servers in PreLive environments.
The PreLive Build Lead position in China may also responsible for ensuring key off-shore (OF) projects are meeting deadlines, having regular meetings with OF vendors, interviewing vendor staff, handling escalations from OF vendors, monitoring and reviewing OF vendor status reports and scorecards. This position will also assist in the ramp-up of the China PreLive team. This includes interviewing candidates, training new hires, building infrastructure and processes for team management/execution, and preparing team status reports/scorecards.
Responsibilities include:
· Lead build and deployment efforts
· Ensure knowledge ramp up and transfers between global teams (including US, India and China)
· Help interview, hire, and train new employees and vendors
· Attract, retrain, develop, and enable talented people
· Analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize existing processes in order to improve performance whenever required
· Provide feedback and recommendations throughout the SDLC to improve product and team quality
· Help lead and manage internal team projects (“mini-PM”)
· Report on team performance and health through metrics, scorecards, and KPI’s
Qualifications include:
· Required:
o B.A. / B.S. in information systems and/or software engineering / computer science
o Knowledge in MS server configuration and deployment automation
o Two years of people management experience
o Experience in cross-group collaboration
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills and mastery of the English language.
o Demonstrated ability to be highly accountable, both directly and indirectly
o Experience in team-based delivery
· Desired:
o Experience working in a gross-geographical model, preferably with companies in the United States
o Experience with a large scale software development life cycle
o Excellent proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel (Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint
o Experience creating team metrics, scorecards, and KPI’s
o Management experience in:
