You will function as a development manager leading a multidisciplinary software engineering team of senior engineering staff.
We need an Development Manager to provide engineering leadership for our mission critical Business solutions while attracting, retaining and growing a top tier engineering team. Focus on product and process quality is a critical component of work done by the OEMIT Engineering Manager. You must have a thorough understanding of and commitment to engineering excellence and what it means to lead a team of professional engineers. Overall responsibility for building and maintaining a strong team of professional engineers that can respond quickly to complex technical and business problems is a critical success factor. You should be adept at working cross-group with other engineering, architect, program management and test teams, as our solutions are often coordinated with other teams around the world. You must have the ability to participate in setting the team’s future state architecture.
The candidate filling this position will become a core member of our engineering team working to integrate new architectures and technologies based on the .Net Framework, SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio into our customers business systems. OEMIT solutions integrate many advanced features of the Microsoft Application Platform. Our application portfolio contains many high transaction volume distributed systems that rely on BizTalk, SQL Server, IIS servers and W2K3 Server. Candidates should have very good understanding and knowledge of service oriented architectures, design patterns, .NET Technologies, high volume OLTP systems and understand distributed enterprise systems.
Managing and executing worldwide OEM IT projects across all phases of the software development lifecycle. This includes coordination and communication across multiple groups and/or vendor organizations, Redmond, Reno, India, China and Dublin to ensure project objectives are being met and project status, issues and progress is communicated to all stakeholders. Position is accountable for end to end milestones for OEM IT System development projects.
This position in China is also responsible for ensuring key OF projects are meeting deadlines, having regular meetings with Off Shore (OF) vendors, interviewing vendor staff, handling escalations from OF vendors, monitoring and reviewing OF vendor status reports and scorecards. This position will also assists in the ramp-up of the China OEM IT group. This includes interviewing candidates, preparing China OEM IT status reports and OEM IT scorecards.
Qualifications:
· BA/BS/MS Computer Science, MIS/IT, Business or related field.
· Minimum of 7 or 8 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience required.
· Strong engineering leadership skills with a proven track record of success on large/highly complex projects.
· Proven ability to manage multiple simultaneous engineering projects.
· Previous experience leading strong engineering teams.
· Strong understanding of software architectures and software lifecycle methodologies.
· Must have a flexible, can-do attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Previous experience leading a global development team is a plus.
