Summary of Project/Product/Division:
The Global Product Development Team (GPD) is looking for an International Program Manager to drive worldwide products and services for the Windows Live Experience Mobile group (LEX Mobile) in Shanghai, China. You will be working in a cross functional team environment in conjunction with PM, Development and Test and will be instrumental in integrating with the core team to enable the globalization and deployment of Windows Live for Mobile Browse services internationally such as WL Hotmail, WL Messenger, Mobile Contacts, Live.com and Mobile Spaces.
Responsibilities:
- Making Windows Live for Mobile Browse globalized and scalable
- Ensuring a smooth end to end deployment of the services internationally
- Creation of technical specifications from business requirements, with risk and dependencies identified
- Driving the implementation and roll out of features worldwide
- Continually defining, improving upon, and documenting International process
- Building cross-group credibility through a strong scope of influence, bridges the gap between the core teams and the markets and business teams. Working with product teams to make sure the best practice of developing international products/services are understood and adapted.
Skills Required:
- Strong understanding of Mobile product’s technology/architecture
- Proven skills for designing global products with local relevance
- Proven skills in writing global technical specifications
- Proven skills in release management and service deployment
- Proven skills in system and process design
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent communication and cross-group collaboration skills with solid written and oral communications skills, and an ability to build relationships both within and outside the team.
- Chinese speaker is not required but is a plus
Additional Requirements: Candidates must be strong self-starters, have a proven track record of product delivery, participated in at least one end-to-end ship cycle as a program manager, and be able to own and execute on a given project from start to finish. Solid knowledge of Internet related technologies is required: e.g. the .Net resource model, XML and HTML. Knowledge of mobile specific technologies, xHTML, cHTML, WML, WAP and Client services experience preferred. Actual Programming experience is a plus. A BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical equivalent preferred, as well as 4+ years program management or related experience. Experience in globalization and localization tools preferred.
