Position: PRINCIPAL GROUP PM

City: Shenzhen

Microsoft Asia Center for Hardware (MACH) is a fast growing organization that is an extension of Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division, a world leader in design, development and manufacturing of computer peripherals, Xbox Gaming and Zune music devices.

MACH is currently looking for an experienced leader to manage the Systems group.  This position will be reporting into the E&D Systems group in Redmond.  The Systems group supports all the manufacturing and supply chain management IT solutions for E&D division. We are looking for a high achiever with a track record of success. This is a senior level position for someone who can take on the challenge of building a team, develop and grow individuals, building and fostering strong cross team/group business relationships and setting tactical goals and strategic plans for the team. The position will have end to end responsibilities for working thru the requirements, designing functional specifications, development and testing business applications owned by the group. They key leadership responsibilities include managing the Program Management, Development and Test teams.  Currently this group supports over 140 applications in production and lab environments. Budget management, offshore team management in Shenzhen, building world class engineering organization and continuous improvements using lean techniques is high level responsibilities of this position.

The position will report into Redmond Sr. Director for E&D System team and will have a dotted line relationship with the MACH Biz Lead. It would also be required to communicate with business users on a need basis. It would regularly present reports to management in E&D Systems team and MACH leadership. Also present project plans, technical documents and processes to direct reports and peers. Will strive to create synergies among peers and directs. 

Success criteria:
1) Personally establish and build superior executive relationships with Redmond-based key stakeholders and co-develop strategies for engagement in support of the wider E&D Systems goals. Set goals and objectives for the team in collaboration with the Redmond, India. Dublin and Singapore organizations. 
2) Understand customer business processes and issues and set realistic expectations as you balance business priority across process, resources, and budget
3) Combine financial excellence with strategic planning and meet or beat the financial goals
4) Have a passion for delighting the customers and for continuous improvements
5) Planning, communication and collaboration skills required.
6) A team player that can collaborate closely with management team in MACH and play a key role in building a healthy work climate and a cohesive team in MACH


Qualifications:
Demonstrated track record of success in a large, dynamic and fast paced engineering/development environment.  Strong analytical skills that can be applied to gather appropriate data, synthesizing it and driving resulting decisions. Strong customer and partner relationships management, budget management and enterprise operational expertise is required. The ideal candidate should have more than 10 years of experience in technology and  5 or more years of people management experience.  Experience in people management in China would be an added advantage.  Strong communication skills in both Chinese and English (written/spoken) desired. 

A BS/MS in computer science, information systems, and engineering and/or equivalent industry experience required.
