| Job description: |
|
| • The optical test engineer will be responsible for performing design risk analysis and evaluation of |
| optical system and component designs delivered by the optical design team. This includes the use |
| of analytical tools for simulations as well as the use of rigorous test and experimentation techniques |
| to validate optical system performance. He/she should have a working knowledge of radiometry and |
| photometry and apply these skills to identify critical to quality metrics for imaging and illumination |
| systems. Candidate in this role will be expected to conduct sensitivity analyses and DOE studies to |
| identify design margin and system robustness. The optical test engineer will be responsible for |
| designing and implementing development test systems used to characterize and validate design |
| architectures and prototype products. |
|
| • Engineer in this role will also be responsible for qualification of injection molded lenses and |
|
| accessory components. He/she should use knowledge of optics, statistics and tolerancing to |
|
| translate product and system level requirements to critical test parameters for components. Person |
| in this role should understand interferometric testing of optical systems and will design and develop |
| test systems for measuring performance variables for optic components. The optical test engineer |
| will be responsible for establishing quality metrics for component manufacturing and will provide |
| specifications and documentation for the development of production test equipment. |
|
| • Candidate will be expected to work with internal design and manufacturing teams as well as lead |
| and manage external partners, vendors and contractors during development and launch of products. |
| • This role will require engagement on multiple products with cross-functional teams. Strong skill-set |
| in analysis and problem solving as well as communication are required. |
|
| Requirements: |
|
| • 3+ years experience in performing characterization and validation of optical mechanical prototype |
| assemblies . |
|
| • 3+ years of proven experience in designing and developing test systems and tools for injection |
| molded optics components. |
|
| • 3+ years of practical experience with light modulators, collimators, interferometers, laser sources, |
| wavefront sensors and optical bench set-ups. |
|
| • Proficient with data acquisition and analysis software (LabVIEW, MathCAD and/or MATLAB), optical |
| metrology and data analysis, vision processing and mechanical processing alignment systems. |
| • 2+ years experience in design and tolerancing lens design CAD tools such as Zemax, Oslo, or Code |
| V and non-sequential ray tracing programs such as TracePro or ASAP required. |
|
| • Experience developing high-volume (millions of products/year) and consumer products preferred. |
| • Working knowledge CMOS and CCD image sensors (theory of performance). |
|
| • Experience working as a vendor manager working with manufacturers is a plus. |
|
| • Willing and able to travel to US. |
