GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for developing and documenting Product level and Integration Level test plans as well as direct a test team during test execution and report results to development engineers and management
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Create Functional plans for System Test for platform development programs including resource requirements, schedule assumptions, and scope based on inputs from Test Engineers and Development Mangers
2. Create test plans which include the Functional plan and add detailed test requirements and procedures to be followed based on inputs from the Business Contract and Software and Hardware product specifications. Test plan covers Integration test phases.
3. Develop risk management plans for system test based on all information available to determine technical and logistical risk to completing System Test as planned.
4. Manage daily execution of test plan including guidance of technicians at Dell, OEM, or third-party test facility.
5. Report test execution progress and issues to the engineering team, Manage the issues from creation to closure. Use standard reports and metrics as well as special reports as required.
6. Work with the extended engineering team to ensure completion of all required testing and monitor project progression through the PrP and EDP processes.
7. Drive use of standard tools and push for process improvement where possible.
8. Job Level Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
9. Work with designers and technologist to determine test requirements and write Test Plans for System Test Projects.
10. Communicate with and direct test technicians in the execution of Test Plans.
11. Work with designers to resolve product issues discovered during test.
12. Counsel Test Engineers on current technology test methods and tools.
13. Define and implement new test methodologies and test tools to reduce test time and increase test coverage.
14. Evaluate effectiveness and implement a continuous improvement process for test plans during and after test projects.
15. In specific fields of expertise, conduct technical training for test engineers and technicians within all test groups at Dell.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bi-lingual Chinese/English.
2. Ability to multi task
3. Ability to deal with ambiguity

5. 5 years above relevant experience with computers or related high tech design
6. Minimum of BSEE
7. Preferred Microsoft System Engineer Certification
8. Understanding of Microsoft Operating System architecture.
9. Understanding of hardware and software interactions; able to apply this understanding to resolve issues.
10. Able to drive problem-solving strategies for complex problems that involve cross-functional disciplines.
11. Detail-oriented with attention to product quality.
12. Verbal and written communication.
13. Team leadership skills.
14. Problem solving and analysis skills.
15. Ability in organizing and managing multiple projects, setting priorities and working independently under aggressive timelines.
16. Able to easily achieve mastery of new tools, languages and operating systems.
17. Ability to work under date-driven schedules
18. Proficient in reading and understanding technical data sheets.
