General Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to identify and qualify suppliers for direct and indirect materials and services, based on the needs of the various Textron business units. As a liaison between the business units and potential / existing suppliers, this position will help insure successful supplier relationships from a cost, quality, and product perspective, across the Textron Enterprise.
Responsibilities
· Promote Regional Competencies for Globalization
1. Investigate and determine the regional competencies for Globalization that will best serve Textron Business Unit needs
2. Help Business Units determine what type of parts/processes are a good fit for the region
· RFQ / Supplier Identification and Qualification:
1. Receive RFQ from Business Units, review and assure that all components are included and that RFQ considers local terminology and other local needs of that region.
2. Distribute RFQ details to capable suppliers, preferably suppliers currently working with Textron or growth suppliers.
3. Offer receipt and analysis, including a full Net Landed Savings calculation based on information supplied by business units.
4. Identify and pre-analyze suppliers for RFQs with requirements not met by existing supply base.

1. Assist in supplier negotiations and cost management
2. Assist in prototype builds and product launches
3. Work closely with suppliers to ensure that delivery requirements of the business unit are met
4. Manage all activities related to post-purchase order placement from first article to ongoing serial production
5. Track and manage supplier’s performance based on business unit’s feedback
6. Maintain full awareness of all purchase orders placed in the region
· Communication:
1. Facilitate supplier and business unit visits and ongoing communications
2. Manage detailed and regular communications with: supplier, business unit, and globalization team members in
3. Document and validate supplier visit objectives being met via trip reports

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent experience
Additional Training / Certifications:
Six Sigma Certification Preferred (Green Belt or Black Belt)
Experience:
· Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in manufacturing / sourcing
· Strong knowledge of auditing and assessing quality systems
Qualifications:
· PC skills, primarily Excel, word processing, e-mail, Internet, Intranet - WebEx
· High level of diplomacy and ability to interface with various levels in the business units and external suppliers
· Ability to work effectively cross-culturally
· Strong verbal and written skills in the English language
