Purpose / Role

Support & execute piping engineering work of project.
Develop and optimize piping design to meet client requirement.
Review and / or develop piping material specification (piping class) per project requirement
Supervise local design institute’s Detail Engineering work.

Prime responsibilities and duties

1. Undertake the Piping /layout design work independently, FEED, BED or DED (at requirement) of a petrochemical or chemical plant or a facility.
2. Be able to develop or review of piping material specification per project requirement.
3. Undertake the Piping installation supervision work or site management work at requirement. (for PMC or EPCM Project)
4. Supervise the discipline design group of CDI in order to achieve the project objectives in terms of profit, quality, safety and schedule. (for PMC or EPCm Project)
5. Prepare or review piping / layout design criteria and necessary control documents based on project execution plan prior to commencement of any engineering or design activities.
6. Preparation of Piping / layout design deliverables to enable procurement, supply, fabrication, installation and construction to take place.
7. Provide the necessary technical assistance to the procurement, such as MR preparation, attending the TBA, etc.
8. Provide the necessary technical assistance to the project construction team at requirement (e.g. subcontract evaluation, definition of the scope of work, construction schematics etc.)
9. Maintain good interfacing with other disciplines.

Core competencies

Essential Competence:
1 University Degree of related Engineering, at least 5 years Petrochemical, Chemical or Coal- chemical projects piping / layout design working experience.
2 Strong experience and technical background for piping /layout design, familiar with design procedure and cooperation with other disciplines.
3 Familiar with engineering deliverable at different stage of project, and depth requirement.
4 Familiar with local and international engineering Codes and standards, regulations, and the implementation.
5 High responsibility, good teamwork spirit.
6 Good in written and spoken English

Desirable Competencies
7 Experience of using related software for the help of engineering work, including Caesar II, PDS, Smartplant review, etc.
8 Knowledge in the piping material selection and development of piping material specification.
9 Experience with international projects or Engineering Company is preferred.
