Purpose / Role
Summary of the main tasks undertaken are:
Maintain and promote a safe working environment and demonstrate correct Health, Safety and Environment conscious behaviours..
Review of ITT’s to establish commercial pricing requirements
Participation in kick-off and progress review meetings
Liaising with the following departments to obtain necessary input and advice:
• Group Taxation
• Group Treasury
• Group Insurance
• Legal
• Finance
• Proposals
• Business Development
• Win Team Leaders / Engineering
Preparing and completion of Commercial Review Board (CRB) application papers
Risk Management – Participation in AMEC’s TRM Process for all proposals and if required prepare and maintain the risk register until contract award.
Preparation of all rates and prices required in commercial submission including:
• personnel rates
• plant and equipment rates
• fees
• target costs
• lump sums
•
All of the above may be required for both home country and international projects
Preparation, issue and review of subcontract enquiry packages
Preparation of:
• Top Sheets (Cost Estimates)
• Cash Flows (if not provided by Finance team)
Assisting (where required) in preparing applications for:
• Bonds
• Parent Company Guarantees
• Letters of Credit
• Powers of Attorney
Participation in Commercial Review Board meeting
Review and incorporation of pre tender clarification requirements / tender bulletins
Review of technical submission documents to ensure consistency with commercial submission
Completion of final commercial section documents for inclusion in tender submission
Assisting with the preparation of clarifications responses
Compilation (where necessary) and checking of Contract and Work Order documentation (both intercompany and external client)
Handover of tender back-up information to project commercial team

Abilities and Experience Required
Communication Skills
Good communication skills are essential as the role will often require close contact with internal and external clients discussing complex cost / value matters.
Spoken and written English should be to a very high standard
Keyboard skills
Very good understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is necessary
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word is necessary
Qualifications
Required Qualification:
• Degree in Quantity Surveying / Civil Engineering / Dip Cost Engineering

• Minimum 5 years working in a commercial function
• Minimum 2 years working specifically in a costing / pricing function
(It is preferred that the above experience is undertaken in the Petrochemical / Refining industries).
