Purpose / Role

• Ensuring effective commercial co-ordination of relevant business / JV in accordance with all relevant AMEC commercial policies and procedures.
• Key aims and objectives
• Ensuring effective post-contract commercial co-ordination of relevant JV business in accordance with AMEC commercial policies and procedures and that commercial entitlement is pursued and obtained in accordance with the terms of the contract.

Prime responsibilities and duties

• Maintain and promote a safe working environment and demonstrate correct HSE behaviours and leadership.
• Ensuring that CRB approval process followed and that all necessary approvals obtained.
• Ensuring that appropriate commercial resources are deployed on JV Business.
• Ensuring that appropriate training and development provided for JV commercial personnel.
• Ensuring that JV operates in accordance with AMEC commercial policies and procedures.
• Ensuring that JV invoicing carried out in accordance with terms and conditions of contract and that cash position maximised.
• Ensuring that cost/value reporting and end life forecasting on JV projects are undertaken in accordance with AMEC policies and procedures and that the appropriate values are reflected in the management accounts.
• Submission of variation and contract amendment requests and claims in accordance with contract requirements
• Agreement of final accounts and close out of contracts in accordance with contract requirements.
• Placement and management of sub-contracts in accordance with relevant AMEC policies and procedures and in a manner which optimises AMEC's commercial position.
• Ensuring that sub-contract documentation is in accordance with AMEC policy and procedural requirements.
• Provision of commercial and contractual advice to General Manager.
• Ensuring that cost reports to JV Board in respect of the JV are provided as required.
• Ensuring that revised contract rates and prices are built up and submitted in accordance with the terms of the contract.
• Ensuring that any necessary contractual notices are served in accordance with the terms of the contract.
• Ensuring that bonds and guarantees are returned / released in accordance with their terms.

  Ensuring that payments to JV are made in accordance with the terms of the contract.
• Ensuring that risk management techniques are applied to JV Business.
• Evaluation and settlement of sub-contractor claims.
• Preparation of correspondence in connection with project contractual matters.

• Deputise for General Manager.
• Liaison with internal and external auditors.

Core competencies

University graduate or above in Quantity Surveying, Law, Business Studies or other appropriate discipline.

Minimum 10 years working experience in commercial roles in the Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical or oil and gas industry

Specific competencies to be in accordance with AMEC commercial management competence scheme.
