Job Overview
This position is responsible to operate at a logical product group or solution level within Professional Services. The Consultant is expected to be able to position and present the benefits of the solution with the client and/or install the solution at the client's site.
Key Responsibilities
§ Install and configure CA technology to meet customer requirements during Trials and/or implementations according to CA's Best Practices.
§ Provide technical support as needed, resolving client technical issues during engagement.
§ Support PM with project planning as needed.
§ Complete schedules, time reporting, project status and any other documentation required in a timely manner.
Position-Specific Decision-Making Authority
§ Generally works without consulting their manager.
§ Independent decisions are made daily.
§ No significant budgetary or other financial accountability.
§ Does not supervise (hire, evaluate, and/or terminate) other employees.
Position-Specific Authorities
§ Handle moderately complex problems that arise in everyday work, and escalates more complex problems.
§ Prioritize work to make best use of resources.
Business Travel
Business travel of approximately 10 percent yearly is expected for this position.
Position-Specific Education, Experience and Certifications
Preferred Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or business related field.
Work Experience
Typically a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in the IT industry. Candidate should have experience at a professional IT services company or software provider, and have a broad understanding of technology concerns. Business understanding is required to demonstrate/explain how CA technology can fulfill the business requirements of customers.
Specific Skills and Certifications
· Solid SQL language knowledge, rich experience on SQL Server and Oracle configuration and programming.
· Ability to code simple program (no particular programming tool is required) is necessary.
· Strong English skill.
· Good communication and written skills. Certification in one or more Solution areas plus two courses per year. Leverage knowledge of all the major products within the solution group plus at least 2 complimentary products. Articulate an overview of their respective Brand's vision, capabilities and solution offerings to both internal and external clients. Certification in one Solution areas. Storage, Security, Enterprise Mgmt, etc knowledge. Pre-sales consultants - good presentation skills. Ability to create presentations with PowerPoint and demonstrate product. Ability to implement basic product functionality to assist in meeting trial objectives. Establishes credibility, expertise and trust with Management, Customers, Sales, CRO, and CA TS fellow workers. Leverage their knowledge of and experience with the sales methodology to add value to sales reviews and progress sales opportunities. Services consultants: Implement solutions according to architectural specifications and best practices; Install and configure CA software according to documented customer requirements; adhere to CA processes for project implementation. Demonstrate business value achieved from product/solution implementation requirements.
Physical Demands
Business travel is required. Office environment. No special physical demands required.
