Major Responsibilities:
1. Evaluate resort-wide safety risks and develop necessary preventive or corrective measures in coordination with the respective management. Investigate incidents to determine the root cause and recommend corrective action.
2. Develop safety initiatives with training and communication team to promote team member safety awareness and foster a strong safety culture.
3. Develop and maintain UBR safety policies and procedures, conduct cross-checks to ensure that they are well implemented by business departments during day-to-day operations.
4. Assess and monitor practices and facilities to ensure compliance with local safety regulations and participate in audits to ensure compliance, liaise with regulatory agencies as required and accompany regulators during inspections. Remains abreast of ever-changing and new regulations through various media sources.
5. Develop and maintain self-inspection protocols for resort-wide areas and propose solutions for unsafe acts and conditions.
6. Manage the entire safety operations team to ensure cohesiveness and alignment of team functions with the EHS function, support and collaborate with all EHS peer leadership related to resources and communications for clarity of message with business partners.
7. Provide technical support on high risks, including but not limited to working at height, confined space, LOTO and special equipment safety management.
Qualifications:
1. A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in safety management, chemical engineering, electrical, or other related field is preferred.
2. Strong communication skills inclusive of good English speaking and writing.
3. Experience– At least 8 years of safety experience in an industrial setting or related consulting required; Experience should include EHS management system implementation, risk assessment, supervision, planning, scheduling. Theme Park specific experience is highly preferred.
